Saudi Arabia has expressed its firm rejection and condemnation of the declaration issued by the United States Administration to recognize Israel's sovereignty over the occupied Syrian Golan Height.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia affirmed its firm and principled position on the Golan Height that it is an occupied Syrian Arab land in accordance with relevant international resolutions and that attempts to impose a fait accompli do not change facts, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
Saudi Arabia called on all parties to respect the resolutions of the international legitimacy and the Charter of the United Nations.
According to SPA, Speaker of Arab Parliament, Dr. Mishaal bin Fahm Al-Salami, also categorically rejected President Donald Trump's decision to recognize the sovereignty of the occupying power (Israel) over the Syrian Golan.
For its part, Jordan on Monday said the Golan Heights will remain a Syrian territory occupied by Israel as affirmed by relevant international legitimacy resolutions and urged all members of the international community to abide by such resolutions.
Following the United States' unilateral move to recognize Israel's sovereignty over the Golan Heights, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi said Jordan's position is firm and clear in rejecting Israel's annexation of the Syrian territory and any unilateral decision that would fuel tension in the region, SPA reported.
