Five fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), including an Italian soldier, were killed, while others were injured on Monday after being targeted by the Islamic State's fighters in Baghouz; IS last pocket in Syria.
The IS linked Amaq news agency reported that an Italian Soldier was among five SDF members who were killed in the clashes that took place between SDF and IS near Baghouz, in eastern Deir Ezzor.
Pro-SDF accounts on the social media posted photos of the Italian Soldier "Orso Dilatollo" confirming his death by a controlled missile shot by IS.
In its last pocket in Baghouz, IS conduct sudden attacks and target the gatherings of SDF fighters with IEDs and suicide bombers.
Reuters news agency reported that SDF had taken positions in Islamic State’s last pocket and air strikes pounded the tiny patch of land beside the Euphrates River early on Monday, according to SDF fighters.
