The Minister of Defence of Assad regime, General Ali Abdallah Ayoub, held meetings on Monday Mar. 18, with the Chiefs of Staff of Iraq and Iran, Marshal Ozman Al Ghanini and General Mohamed Baquiri, the Cuban news agency Prensa Latina reported.
General Ayoub described the meetings as important for everyone, the agency said.
"Any military presence without Syria's invitation is an occupation and this country has the right to defend its sovereignty, and Idlib is no exception and will return to the heart of the nation, the agency quoted Ayoub as saying.
Iranian General Baquiri said that Iran is in Syria invited by Syrian government and that it will remain as long as Syrian government requests, stressing that the sovereignty and integrity of Syria must be respected, according to the agency.
Iraqi Chief of Staff Marshal Al Ghanini pointed out that "Syria security and Iraq security are inseparable since Syria is a depth of Iraq and vice versa, therefore the coordination will continue through the Information Center created," the agency added.
Al Ghanini added that the next few days the border crossing between Syria and Iraq will be opened , for which the mixed commissions are working.
