Russia burns Sochi agreement of Idlib with white phosphorus

Russian warplanes alongside with the regime forces bombarded the cities and towns of Idlib with thermobaric and white phosphorus bombs, Tuesday Mar. 12, leaving several injuries among civilians.

This escalation is the biggest since signing the Sochi agreement between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

Several civilians have been injured including two women in Saraqeb, Tel Merdikh and Khan al-Sebel of Idlib's southern countryside, Baladi News correspondent reported. 

Meanwhile, the city of Tamanea has witnessed intensive bombardment with the internationally banned phosphorus bombs, which led to the injury of several civilians, Baladi correspondent added. 

Syrian Civil Defence said that two civilians, including a women, have been killed and eight others injured in Russia and Assad's bombardment on Idlib. 

Another civilian was killed in Salihiya village by regime's artillery bombs, while two other women were killed in the town of Habit, after targeting the town with five missiles loaded with cluster bombs, the Civil Defence added. 

The Civil Defence said that regime forces targeted the city of Sarmin, east of Idlib, with 5 cluster missiles, which led to the injury of four civilians including two children.

The Civil Defence pointed out that the regime forces targeted Tamanea town with 82 missiles loaded with the internationally banned white phosphorus. 

This escalation is the most violent since signing the Sochi Agreement between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, which provided for the establishment of a safe zone of 15 kilometers deep, and conducting Turkish-Russian patrols in both areas of the regime and the opposition separately.
