The wife of Islamic State's leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, has been arrested with his children by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on Wednesday Feb 27, Iraqi media cited Iraqi intelligence sources as saying.
The SDF, backed by U.S troops, transported in a big blue truck, 21 families of the elite leaders of the Islamic State, following the deal of handing over the area of Baghouz to the SDF, Baghdad Today news agency quoted a source which refused to me named.
The truck was guarded by U.S. special forces as well as SDF vehicles, and it carried the wife of Baghdadi and two of his children, where they were all taken out of Baghouz to an unknown destination, the sources pointed out.
All the families consisted of women and children, without any men on board, the sources confirmed, and they were transported according to names' list.
The route of the truck was different from the route used to transfer other families.
Although Daesh lost their last pocket in Syria, the fate of Baghdadi, the leader of the organisation, is still unknown, amid news which says that he is in the desert on Syrian-Iraqi border, and the he's moving through underground tunnels.
