U.S. reinforcements arrived in the area of al-Tanf of Iraq, on the borders with Syria. In the area of al-Tanf of Syria, a military base belongs to the International Coalition is located, and it's backing the opposition factions which control the area.
A local official and military source in Anbar province in western Iraq said, Saturday 9 Feb, that the reinforcements included Hummer military vehicles, guns and other heavy weapons, and were dispatched in order to secure the Iraqi border with Syria in conjunction with the military operations launched in the Syrian side to liberate the last stronghold of Daesh in Deir Ezzor.
An officer in the Iraqi army confirmed that the reinforcements came from the base of "Ein al-Assad" in al-Baghdadi area, 90 km west of Ramadi in Iraq.
The U.S. troops have established several military bases in the province of Anbar on the Syrian border, the Iraqi officer added.
