The Israeli Intelligence website "Debka" revealed that Russia transferred to Deir Ezzor the air defense system S-300 which it provided the Syrian regime with recently.

Debka pointed out that Russian military in Syria transferred an S-300 air defense missile battalion from Masyaf in West Syria to Deir Ezzor in the east.

The battalion consisted of eight launchers for 50-70 missiles, accompanied by a Russian operating team, according to the website.

Russian Ministry of Defense hasn't made any comment on this, while Israel has not made any official comment on the Russian step.

On October 2, Moscow announced completing the operation of delivering the S-300 air defense system to the Syrian regime.

The Israeli newspaper Haaretz published, in October, pictures showing four missile launchers near Masyaf, west of Hama.

Russian President Vladimir Putin decided to deliver the sophisticated S-300 defense system to Syria last September following the downing of a Russian spy aircraft during an Israeli airstrike.
