A leaked document revealed that Assad regime granted Syrian citizenship to leaders of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards fighting in Syria, and that they now have a national number in the civil records. This comes as part of the regime's demographic change policy, as well as Iran's efforts to settle Shiite fighters with their families in Syria .
Reliable sources said that the head of the General Intelligence Division of the regime signed a document containing the names of 11 leading Iranian figures, and identifying the Iranian cities from which they originate. The document also reveals the cities where they stay in Syria, including Damascus and its suburbs, Aleppo and Deir Ezzor.
Observers believe this step comes within Tehran's policy of expansion and infiltration into the Syrian territories, as well as the new policy of the demographic change.
It's noteworthy that Assad regime prevented the people of several areas in Damascus from returning to their homes, such as Daray, Barada's Valey, Zabadani, and Sayyidah Zeinab.
