Twelve fighters of the Syrian democratic forces (SDF) militant group were killed on Sunday after ISIS launched a sudden attack on one of SDF positions in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, Qasioun agency reported.
Local media sources said that ISIS launched a violent attack and targeted SDF in Bahra area located near Hajin city in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor near the Syrian-Iraqi borders, killing 12 SDF fighters and injuring 20 others, in addition to a number of casualties among ISIS fighters.
ISIS used the car-bombs and suicide belts and armed vehicles in the attack, taking advantage of the bad weather in the region, the sources added.
On Saturday, ISIS waged an offensive on positions of SDF in the area between Ja’aby area to Hajin city eastern Deir Ezzor, where local sources reported violent clashes broke out between both sides as the US-led Coalition warplanes were hovering over the area.
