The YPG-affiliated security, Asayish, has arrested at least 30 people in northeastern Hasaka province, saying they have links with Daesh jihadist group, local activists reported Sunday.
Asayish, the police force of the Kurdish autonomous cantons, waged major arrest campaign against Arab villages near the town of al-Shaddadi, south of Hasaka city, according to activist Milad al-Youssef.
The campaign also reached the Mont Abdulaziz in the western countryside.
Hasaka province has been divided into zones of Kurdish and Syrian regime control. It forms part of a broader battle for control of the long border area abutting Turkey.
