New photos appeared on the social media websites in which Farouk al-Shara, the former Foreign Minister of the Syrian regime, appeared at his home in Damascus, with the Syrian poet Hani Daniel during a visit to al-Shara, after two years of disappearance from the diplomatic and media arena.
The photos showed that Shara has aged, but that he's in a good health condition, where the apparent smiles on his face contradict all the reports which said he was arrested by the Assad regime.
Al-Shara is one of the most prominent figures in the Assad regime. He served as foreign minister in the government of the regime for more than 30 years and then served as vice president until he was absent from the scene for more than two years.
It was thought that al-Shara is placed under house arrest, after rumors spread that he was the best man to lead a consensual transition.
