The New York Times called for the US to intervene in order to prevent a full scale offensive on the province of Idlib, and to protect the civilians in the midst of escalating the probability of a groung attack by the regime forces backed by Russia, on the province where more than 3 million civilians live.

The Newspaper expressed concerns about the tragic fate which awaits the province, writing that the conflict in Syria will have dark end, where Assad regime and his Russian and Iranian allies are preparing for a military attack, which wight lead to humanitarian catastrophe.

It pointed out that the Syrian regime with its Russian and Iranian allies defied the international community, and this was confronted with a confused and inconsistent US policy.
