Chief adviser to the international coalition to defeat ISIS in Syria William Roebuck visited al-Shadadi on Saturday and held a meeting with the local council to discuss the most important developments in the area.
Russia Today reported that Roebuck’s visit to the al-Shadadi district in al-Hasakah, northeast Syria, focused on a number of service matters for areas liberated from ISIS terrorists.
During a press conference, he described the meeting with the council as “very fruitful.”
He revealed that he discussed with the officials the challenges in the area, such as health, education, electricity and other problems.
“Our objective is to provide humanitarian assistance to the residents until security, stability and normal life can be restored and this is part of the objectives to defeat ISIS,” he asserted.
He confirmed: "We are preparing to stay longer in Syria, as the President [Donald Trump] has made clear to ensure defeating ISIS completely, and we will remain focused on the process of the withdrawal of the Iranian forces and their allies as well."
Roebuck also visited the Iraqi-Syrian border near al-Dashisha city, east Syria, and inspected the conditions there.
In a related development, the international coalition announced that the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) launched a military operation to liberate Dashisha from ISIS.
The SDF media center announced that as part of the second phase of “Island Storm” operation, forces were able to completely liberate the town, reported Russia Today.
