The local council in the town of Kafr Ghan in the northern Aleppo countryside has opened the first sports club for children with the aim of creating a space for them to practice their hobbies and develop their sports skills.
Mohamed Kilani, head of the local council for the town, told the SY24 website that the aim of opening the sports club was to keep children away from the atmosphere of war and to give them back their childhood, as well as providing them with physical fitness and attracting talent that could be developed, and in the future represent Syria in international and continental sporting competitions.
Kilani added: “The opening of the club was attended by the Turkish Minister for Sports and Youth, as well as the heads and members of the local councils in the Aleppo countryside, amid an atmosphere of enthusiasm among the students who gave excellent presentations at the opening celebration.”
The trainer, Youssef Hilal, said that the age between eight and 15 years old will be accepted, and that the necessary training will be given to each child according to their desires, and they will be able participate in various activities such as Roman Wrestling, Taekwondo, kickboxing and Kung Fu.
