The Orient Net reported that People of Manbij city in the eastern countryside of Aleppo are on strike, on Wednesday (July 25), against what they said the oppressive practices of the PKK_affiliated YPG militias which controls the city.
Photos published on social media showed shops closed in a popular market place in the city center.
Local sources said the strike comes against the background of killing Hassan al-Faisal al-Nu’emi, who was killed by the YPG intelligence and thrown at the side of the Euphrates River, according to locals.
This is not the first time in which Manbij are on strike as a similar strike was announced six months ago against the compulsory conscription enforced by the YPG.
