The Israeli army reported that Israel's air force attacked three military positions in Syria, on Wednesday night, according to Haaretz; the Israeli newspaper.
The attack was carried out in response to a Syrian Drone that infiltrated Israeli airspace earlier on Wednesday, according to the IDF, but Israel shot down the drone.
Syrian State media said Hezbollah positions were hit in the Quneitra province in Syria's Golan Heights. The attack took place in the village of Khan Arnabeh and in another city in Quneitra, Syrian media reported.
The attack late Wednesday night was near Hader at the frontier of the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights and caused only material damages, Syrian state news agency SANA cited a military source as saying.
These developments come in conjunction with the visits of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Ali Akbar Velayati, a senior adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, to Russia, in order to meet Russian officials and hold talks over Syria.
"Israel does not intend to threaten the rule of Bashar al-Assad, but Moscow must help to get the Iranian forces and militias out of Syria," an Israeli official quoted Netanyahu as saying to Putin during the talks.
