After ordering his militias to shell Daraa on Friday (June 15), Bashar Assad, sent his defence minister, Ali Ayoub, to pay a field visit to one of regime’s military positions in the southern region.
The Assad general inspected the combat preparedness of the militia formation and lauded the morale of the Assad sectarian militia, according to the regime’s news agency SANA.
On Friday, the first days of Eid al-Fitr, Assad sectarian militias shelled cities and towns in the city of Daraa where more than 4 people were killed.
The Assad shelling came despite the United States warned on Thursday it would “take firm and appropriate measures” in response to Assad regime’s violations in a so-called de-escalation zone in Syria’s southwest areas.
