In his interview with RT TV, the Head of the Syrian regime vowed to recapture the areas controlled by the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), and said: "The Americans should leave, somehow, they are going to leave. They came to Iraq with no legal basis, and look what happened to them, They have to learn their lesson."
He added that the regime's government started opening doors for negotiations with SDF, the alliance led by Kurdish units and controls large areas north-east of Syria.
Assad said this will be the first method, however, if negotiations fail, the Syrian army will be forced to liberate areas occupied by the SDF, with the Americans, or without the Americans. He stressed that the Americans will be forced out of the country.
Bashar al-Assad denied any presence for the Iranian forces in Syria saying: "We never had any Iranian troops at any time, we have only Iranian officers who work with the Syrian regime army"
