Following its declaration to stop the support for the Free Syrian Army (FSA) because of fighting Assad's regime in the Syrian desert, the United States sent an additional shipment of up-to-date weapons and military equipment to Syria's Democratic Forces (SDF), the militia led by the Kurdish separatist YPG.
According to an Anatolia correspondent in al-Hasakah, 180 trucks loaded with military equipment and ammunition were sent in two batches during the last seven days to Al-Hasakah and from there to northern Al-Raqqa.
The correspondent mentioned that 100 trucks had entered al-Hasakah from the Iraqi borders on 22 July, followed by 80 others yesterday. Prior to that, 629 military-ammunition-loaded trucks had been sent between 5 June and 17 July.
The continued military and logistic support for SDF takes place concurrently with a Washington Post report that CIA decided to stop the support program of the FSA.
The newspaper added that the US president Donald Trump had taken this decision one month ago after a meeting with CIA director Mike Pompeo and national security adviser General Herbert Raymond McMaster, whereas the White House refused to comment on Washington Post's report.
What is important is that the shipment was consigned SDF militia affiliated with the Kurdish PYD party that has close cooperation and coordination with Assad's regime at all levels and that it is coincided with news about the stoppage of support for the FSA factions fighting, or willing to fight, Assad.
