The negotiating mediator between "Hezbollah" and "Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham", Ahmad al-Fliety, was killed two days ago by a missile that targeted his car in Arsal east of Lebanon while he was working on putting an end to the battles in this border region with Syria.
The militia of Hezbollah is the party believed to be behind this crime as it started a military operation to "clean Jaroud Arsal and al-Qalamoun from the armed terrorists", with an aerial support by the Syrian regime that started last Wednesday through bombarding the border regions with coordination with the Lebanese army. It's noteworthy that factions form "FSA" and "Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham" exist in this region and the battles go on without knowing the fate that awaits the refugees camps in Arsal that shelters dozens of thousands of Syrian refugees.
What's happening in Arsal can't be separated from the current situation in Syria in general as Hezbollah won't leave the country before achieving some face-saving victories which are actually fake and done by coordination with the Syrian intelligence services.
The Syrian journalist, Ahmad al-Qassier, confirmed that the goal of the Lebanese army behind the battle of Arsal is to secure Jaroud Arsal which are located within the Lebanese territories, while Hezbollah wants to appear as being the winning party because this battle can be considered its last one in the region.
The Destiny of Arsal Refugees
The director of the Syrian Association for Refugees Rights, Mohammad al-Nuaimi, said that Hezbollah militia tried to enter Syria from al-Qusaier and western Qalamoun in order to push the armed factions towards Jaroud Arsal and though mix them with the refugees then use this as a pretext to push the refugees to go back to the regime-held regions under fake reconciliation agreements.
Concerning the conditions of the Syrian refugees, al-Nuaimi said: "For more than 5 years, Syrian refugees in Lebanon have lived catastrophic conditions where they are not being treated according to the Geneva agreement which was also signed by Lebanon and more than 750,000 refugees are being pursued by Lebanese security forces for not having official documents, 10,000 of which are arrested for the same reason.
Assad Regime wants to evacuate FSA factions
The Syrian politician and head of the Syrian Rescue Committee (Osama Al-Mallouhi) stresses that Arsal camps did not pose any threat on the Lebanese security in the past few months and the explosion that happened there was over exaggerated.
Al-Mallouhi explains that the massive operations led by the Lebanese army and Hezbollah in Arsal are carried out with coordination of the Syrian regime and by its orders in order to reach Jaroud Flieta in Qalamoun mountains, the area near Arsal from the Syrian side, which contains a number of revolutionary Syrian factions. He stresses that the regime and its allies want to control this region because its adjacent to Damascus and the rebels who fight there are fierce militants who have proven that they are able to achieve victory whenever they attack that's why the regime is seeking to evacuate those forces by the same method it followed to evacuate the fighters of Damascus countryside, but I don't think that the Islamic factions in this border region are easy to accept such agreements.
