Baladi News – Daraa (Huzaifa Halawa)

Under the name "Daraa, the Hope," Civil Defence teams in Daraa started a campaign to remove the rubble and remnants of destroyed houses in the neighborhood of the city.

The Civil Defense director in Daraa Ibrahim Abu Nabbout said, "we, at the Civil Defence center of Daraa, and in cooperation with centers in the countryside of the province and other bodies, launched "Daraa, the Hope," campaign that continues for three days and aims at opening blocked roads and removing rubble in front of civilians' houses, a major percentage of which had been destroyed due to 5 months of non-stop shelling by Assad's regime."

Abu Nabbout clarified that "the campaign covers all the neighborhoods that had undergone shelling by the regime forces, from Tareeq al-Sadd until al-Joura in order to mitigate the damages in the neighborhoods, especially to the infrastructure of power grid as well as water supply and sewage system."

It is noteworthy that Daraa underwent the most violent military campaign ever by the regime and Russian forces that dropped and fired more than 2000 barrel-bombs and missiles against the city and waged hundreds of deliberate and indiscriminate airstrikes.
