The office of Tayyar Al Ghad Al Souri (Syria's Tomorrow Movement) received a clarification that its president, Ahmad Jarba, had mediated the new agreement calling for de-escalation in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, which was declared on Saturday morning in Cairo, the Egyptian capital.

"In coordination with the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Russian Ministry of Defense, as part of the efforts to stop the bloodshed of Syrians and improve their humanitarian situation, Ahmad Jarba, head of the Syrian al-Ghad movement, has been working to achieve a full ceasefire in the Eastern Ghouta area between the government and the opposition," Monzer Akbik, the spokesman of the movement said.

He indicated that the agreement provides for a full ceasefire by all parties and opening the crossing of al-Wafideen Camp to introduce humanitarian aid and allow the passage of civilians.

The Russian defense ministry said that the mechanism for "activating" the de-escalation agreement in the eastern Ghouta was signed on July 20, including the introduction of humanitarian aid to the Ghouta as soon as possible and the transfer of injured and wounded through humanitarian corridors.

The agency did not clarify the parties involved in signing the surprising agreement that establishes a new course of the ceasefire in Syria after Astana and Amman agreements on the south.
