The regions of the eastern countryside of al-Raqqa have witnessed a large surge of displacement by the residents as a result of the brutal bombardment by the Russian and Syrian warplanes on the towns and villages of the region.
Local media sources reported that huge numbers of civilians have left the regions of eastern al-Raqqa after dozens of airstrikes and barrel bombs by the Russian and regime warplanes, which led to the martyrdom of dozens of civilians and the injury of others over the past 3 days.
The sources pointed out that most of the displaced people headed towards the desert and the neighboring countryside despite the lack of all necessities of life.
In the same context, about 2,000 newly displaced people have arrived in the SDF-controlled town of al-Mansoura that is located south of al-Raqqa coming from the eastern countryside of al-Raqqa and Deir al-Zor; fleeing the continued bombardment by the Russian and international coalition warplanes.
Regime forces and their allied sectarian militias are seeking to seize control over new areas till reaching the eastern countryside of al-Raqqa after they have controlled important parts of the southern and western countryside of the city, in order to link these areas with the eastern Aleppo countryside, which was recently controlled by regime forces.
