Regime forces have closed the famous ice-cream parlor in Al-Hamidiyah Souq in Damascus "Bakdash", which is considered one of the most famous commercial centers not only in Damascus but also in Syria and its ice cream is very famous that has become part and parcel of the Damascene heritage.
"Dimashq al-A'an" pro-regime page on Facebook said that a joint patrol of the government and consumer protection closed with red wax the ice cream center of Bakdash due to violations of sanitary conditions and hygiene.
On the other hand, an informed source told Baladi News that the decision of shutting down Bakdash ice cream is Iranian and comes within a long series of Iranian procedures to push the damascene traders to sell their shops for Iranian merchants as Iran is trying to seize control over old Damascus.
The source added that Bakdash ice cream dates back to century ago and it did not violate the health and hygiene conditions since its inception, stressing that Iran wants to control the region by intimidating traders. It should be noted that Iran was behind the fires in al-Asrouniyah souq last year.
Tehran encourages the Iranian companies, traders, contractors and citizens to buy houses, real estate and hotels in the fancy neighborhoods of Damascus or around the shrine of Sayyidah Zaynab in its countryside.
