A father and his three children were killed on Tuesday after an explosion in their tent in Rukban camp for Syrian refugees on the Syrian-Jordanian border.
The mother was also moderately injured in the shoulder and the hand and was taken to the medical point in the camp for treatment following the explosion that killed her husband and children.
Meanwhile, reports of the cause of the explosion were conflicting. Sources said that the explosive was caused by a device that the children had found in the camp and brought to their tent before exploding, while other sources attributed the incedent to an exlposion of a primitive gas stove that the family used to prepare food.
Rukban camp is located in the south-east of Syria, near the buffer zone on the Syrian-Jordanian border in the countryside of Homs. It accommodates some 80,000 displaced families, mostly from eastern and northeastern Syria.
