21 days have passed on the successive attacks by Assad's regime and its sectarian militias on the neighborhood of Jobar and regions of eastern Ghouta, in which Assad's forces and its allied militias have suffered heavy losses and defeats before the rebels of Jobar.
After Assad's failure on the military level and its deficiency to tilt the balance in the neighborhood of Jobar, the Russian military air base " Hmeimim" which is located on the Syrian coast demanded Assad's forces and their allied militias to avoid any direct confrontations with the rebels to minimize the losses which doubled recently and rather depend on cutting the supply lines of the rebels to fasten their fall while avoiding casualties and material losses in the ranks of government forces.
The campaign on the neighborhood of Jobar and other fronts in eastern Ghouta started on the 16th of June according to the media office in the neighborhood, where a massive attack by regime forces and their allied militias was launched on Jobar along with the cities of Zamalka and Ayn Tarma in eastern Ghuota, in which they used dozens of sophisticated vehicles and tanks. The campaign was also preceded by more than 350 airstrikes by the Russian and Syrian warplanes, 120 surface-to-surface missiles and hundreds of mortars and heavy artillery bombs that targeted the residential buildings which resulted in a lot of martyrs and casualties among children, women and the elderly.
It's noteworthy that on the 22nd of June the neighborhood of Jobar was targeted with poisonous chlorine gas which resulted in a number of suffocation cases and on the 1st of July a similar attack was launched on the town of Ayn Tarma in eastern Ghouta resulting in 30 casualties.
Poisonous chlorine was also used 3 times in a row against the civilians of Zamlaka in eastern Ghouta on the 2nd of July which left behind more than 10 casualties.
On the 6th of July, the outskirts of the neighborhood of Jobar were also targeted with the poisonous chlorine gas which resulted in 8 casualties among civilians, 6 of which were on the spot treated while the other 2 were transferred to the medical point in the neighborhood.
