A helicopter affiliated to regime forces dropped On Sunday afternoon leaflets on the cities of Idlib, Jisr al-Shugur, and Sarmin, in which they called upon civilians and militants to return to their homeland.
The leaflets included: "The war is coming to an end and the time has come to stop the bloodshed and devastation". The leaflets also called on civilians to join the local reconciliation and put pressure on the "terrorist groups that live on terrorism", urging the residents to cooperate with Assad's army as well.
The leaflets are considered one the of the regime's weapons in its psychological war against the Syrians, through which it aims at delivering a message to its supporters that it is still in power, can take decisions, and will continue to govern Syria with an iron fist, however, regime's supporters believe that it no longer has any power over Syria, except on naive civilians.
The leaflets provoked ridicule among Syrians on the social networking sites, as some of them wondered how ruthless regime forces are at a time when the US and Russian armies are being deployed everywhere in Syria.
