The media office of the Syrian desert and Al-Qalamoun confirmed that huge reinforcements for regime forces and the Shiite militias have arrived in the vicinity of the city of Palmyra in the eastern countryside of Homs, where fierce battles are taking place between ISIS on the one hand and regime forces and their allies on the other hand.
Saieed Seif, a member of the media office in the forces of Ahmad al-Abdo, reported that regime forces have brought huge reinforcements to the regions of east of al-Suwayda'a in the Syrian desert, which indicates that regime forces and their allied sectarian militias are more likely to attack the rebels positions in those regions again.
In the same context, Seif confirmed the information on establishing training camps of Shiite militias in the Syrian desert in the vicinity of Palmyra, adding that most of the militants in those camps are affiliated to Hezbollah and the Palestinian militias of al-Qudus brigade.
The media office reported that the militants in those camps are all under 18, while Iranian and Afghani officers are supervising their training in preparation for battles in the Syrian desert and that regime forces and their officers are not allowed to interfere in those camps.
The Shiite militias started their battles in the Syrian desert 3 months ago concurrently with signing the de-escalation agreement and those battles aim at advancing towards the city of Deir al-Zor and reaching the Iraqi-Syrian borders in order to secure their land supply lines from Tehran.
