People's Protection Units militias which are affiliated to the Kurdish Democratic party "PYD" revealed on Wednesday that the US has established seven military airbases for its forces in north and east of Syria.
The commander in the "Kurdish Units", Siban Hammou, said in an interview with the Middle East newspaper that: "the American army has established bases, airports and centers in 7 locations that are controlled by SDF and People's Protection Units east of the Euphrates, the most prominent of which is in Kobani, where they established a big and developed airport.
According to Hammou, the US established 2 bases in al-Hassaka, 1 in al-Qamishli and 2 others near the city of al-Malkiah, along with another base in Tal Abyadh north of al-Raqqa on the Turkish borders and a military unit in Manbij in the countryside of Aleppo. These bases and airports include 1,300 soldiers of the international coalition led by the US to fight ISIS.
On the other hand, Hammou considered that launching a military operation by Turkey in Afrin in the countryside of Aleppo will negatively affect the battle of ISIS to control al-Raqqa. He added that Russia and the Syrian regime who pretends to have sovereignty over the Syrian lands is watching Turkey storming, interfering, and bombarding the countryside of Aleppo without taking any serious attitude.
