Controlled by Assad’s regime for about one month, Aleppo city is totally deprived of drinking water, which caused a big crisis and chaos amidst statements by Assad’s regime government and media about coming solutions.
Several regime supporters in Aleppo city complained on Facebook of the bad services in the neighborhoods of the city that lack water, electricity, and even emergency water tanks for nearly one month. Therefore, Assad’s regime allied pages created a hashtag named “#ALEPPO_IS_THIRSTY.”
Adopting the story of Assad’s regime media, a Facebook page allied to the Military Security added a post blaming the rebels for cutting the supply pf water. It claimed that “the terrorist armed groups did not allow the workshops of the water utility to complete the repair of the 1400 Line in al-Zahraa area in the west of the city, which necessitates supplying water through the very weak alternative line.”
On the other hand, Assad’s regime Minister of Water stated that pumping water to the city started, denying the claims of these pages, whereas civilians in Aleppo emphasized that water has not reached their houses until this moment.
It is noteworthy that Assad’s regime forces captured al-Khafsa water plant, the main source of supplying water to Aleppo, which had been under the grip of ISIS, whereas Assad’s regime officials state that the plant requires maintenance that will take time and big efforts.
