Media means reported that the Russian forces have retreated from the city of Afrin which is controlled by "SDF" militias towards regime held regions in Aleppo.

"Nawras" center for studies reported an anonymous source saying that Russia has withdrawn its soldiers from the base it established in Afrin in the countryside of Aleppo and kept only 20 of them.

The center added that regime forces have closed the crossing connecting Aleppo and Afrin after the arrival of the Russian forces from Kafrjannah to Nubbul and al-Zahraa.

The Turkish deputy prime minister, Veysi Kaynak, said last week in an interview with Anatolia news agency that: "The city of Afrin should be cleaned from terrorists in order to achieve stability in the region, adding that the Turkish Foreign Ministry and Intelligence Services continue to meet with their counterparts in this regard, pointing out that the Turkish Emergency and Natural Disaster Authority (AFAD) is about to complete the establishment of a police station at the peak of Sheikh Aqeel mountain in the Syrian city of al-Bab".

It's noteworthy that huge Turkish military crowds have recently entered the northern countryside of Aleppo and stationed on the outskirts of the city of Afrin.

The Turkish President "Recep Tayyip Erdogan" has declared recently that his country is ready to start a military operation similar to the Euphrates shield in northern Syria.
