Baladi News – Daraa (Huzaifa Halawa)
The news reported by Assad’s regime media that the regime forces reached Nasib crossing were received with a lot of mockery by commanders at the Free Syrian Army (FSA) due to the vast distance between the last point of the regime and the crossing.
Abu Bakr Hassan, the spokesman of Jaysh al-Thawra rebel group of the FSA said “the regime forces are more than 10 km away from Nasib crossing border.”
“The main goal of this propaganda,” added the speaker, “is to boost the morale of the regime supporters, who almost collapsed due to the regime’s failure to advance in the liberated areas in the south and the heave losses that were inflicted upon its forces.”
Regarding the FSA preparations to protect Nasib border crossing and the liberated southern areas in general. The speaker said that “Jaysh al-Thawra and other factions established an operations room in al-Naima of Daraa countryside that enabled them to coordinate military operations and repulse the regime attempts to advance over the past few days.”
Jaysh al-Thawra is constituted of several factions, most prominently Jaysh al-Yarmouk that still controls Nasib crossing border with Jordan in cooperation with other FSA factions for two years and a half.
