A judicial source confirmed to Baladi News that the drugs have become the most common trade in Damascus, pointing out that drugs and narcotic powder are one of the most common products among the public. A few of regime's high-ranking officers are behind this trade, while Hezbollah is considered the largest supplier and the first beneficiary.
The source, who preferred to stay anonymous, said: "Police and criminal security patrols have arrested several cells selling drugs in Damascus, but the Syrian regime with its judiciary and security branches cannot detain or hold any member of these cells accountable for more than two hours".
"Once a smuggler or drug dealer is arrested, many unknown parties start calling and demand their release and cancel any investigation in the drugs file", he added.
The source confirmed that Hezbollah imports huge amounts of drugs into Syria from its private farms in Lebanon and its active cells in the drug dealing sector are now a "Mafia" that invades Damascus.
