Since the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, the violations of the national defence militias against local residents have increased. These violations included shooting a boy dead in Mokambo, kidnapping and raping young girls, running over female doctor by a thug driving a car without a license plate, and others.
In response to the state of lawlessness in the city, Assad’s regime president sent a high-level delegation to monitor the security situation in the city.
Mahmoud Abu Saleh, a media activist in Aleppo, commented, “Disseminating the news of such violations and crimes is part of a systematic approach to create a public opinion against these militias and convince people that they are different from the regular army.”
On the other hand, the military editor of Baladi News Network, said that “the media campaign against the national defence is supervised by the regime intelligence.”
Although the violations of Aleppo’s thugs are not less atrocious than those of those in other cities, like Lattakia, Homs, and Tartus, the regime limited this campaign to Aleppo in particular.
The editor explained such a trend to the fact that the majority of Aleppo’s thugs belong to the Sunnite sect. Hence, the regime, under the directions of Russia and Iran, seeks to get rid of its untrusted components by way of sectarian classification.
The editor emphasized that the regime, after it retained full control over the central authority, intends to eliminate its tools that committed dirty works. “The regime aims at preventing the development of such militias into forces that could compete it over power,” concluded the speaker.
