Baladi News – Aleppo (Omar Haj Hussein)
A private source in Aleppo reported that some families in the city received humanitarian aid void of rice, sugar, and other materials, whereas hundreds others were deprived of the monthly relief, especially those leaving in the northern and western neighborhoods of the city. However, the distribution of reliefs was limited to the families of the thugs and the dead and wounded fighters of Assad’s regime.
Most charities, on their official websites, attributed the stoppage of distributing aid to the fact that “the situation in Aleppo has changed for the better and that the majority of people no longer needs aid.”
On the other hand, the families of Assad’s regime soldiers and thugs still enjoy full access to aid, although they receive compensations for their killed members on a monthly basis.
It is noteworthy that a lot of civilians in the eastern part of Aleppo city are living below poverty line because they have been deprived of reliefs as a punishment for not leaving their houses when the rebels controlled the city.
