Activists have launched a campaign on the social networking sites under the hashtag (Save the civilians of al-Raqqa) to shed light and draw attention to the suffering of the residents of al-Raqqa, as the city is being subjected to an aerial and fierce missile and artillery bombardment by SDF militias and the International Coalition.
The media activist "Firat al-Waffa" said: "We have launched this campaign to draw the attention of the Syrian people, the states and the organizations concerned in order to put pressure on the international coalition and its allies to change their policy used to control the city.
"The truth is that al-Raqqa has more civilians than ISIS members, but the coalition and its allies don't care about this fact and they follow the scorched-earth policy, as they consider al-Raqqa a terrorist city despite the fact that it's the city that suffered the most of the woes of terrorists and terrorism", he added.
The activist concluded his speech saying: "What concerns us is the safety of civilians not ISIS members and we call on protecting them because they are being killed by all means as the city's parks have become graveyards for them and their children".
The city of al-Raqqa is witnessing fierce battles between the members of ISIS and SDF militias backed by the US-led International Coalition, where the residents of the city suffer from difficult humanitarian conditions due to the siege imposed by the parties of the conflict, who do not care about the safety of the civilians trapped inside the city.
