Media sources in Hama countryside reported that Assad’s regime forces burned vast areas of farmlands on Wednesday evening to expose as large lands as possible to facilitate the repulsion of the rebels’ attacks.
Ahrar al-Sham media office indicated that the lands that were destroyed by the flames are located near the regime barricades, and particularly in al-Shanabra and al-Sakhr areas in the northern countryside.
Head of Media Relations in Ahrar al-Sham Imad Mujahed said, “Assad’s regime policy is about committing systematic crimes such as killing and torturing people, destroying houses, and vandalizing properties, including burning productive lands that are the source of livelihood of residents.”
Mujahed clarified that “burning trees and farmlands in Hama countryside is part of its scheme to bring people to their knees,” emphasizing that people are still working and sacrificing all that they have to topple the regime and liberate their country.
