Assad Military Alliance Fumes Over Washington’s Second Strike in Syria in Two Months

Town Hall

For the second time in two months, the U.S. has launched an airstrike on Islamic State militants in Syria. The first strike, on May 18, was conducted in response to pro-Syrian regime forces that were advancing into a de-confliction zone. The second strike caused multiple deaths, according to a Syrian military source.

However, the strike is only causing more tension between the U.S. and Bashar al-Assad's regime and allies.

On Wednesday, a military alliance associated with Assad warned that they would hit U.S. positions in Syria if the U.S. crossed  “red lines.”

"America knows well that the blood of the sons of Syria, the Syrian Arab Army, and its allies is not cheap, and the capacity to strike their positions in Syria, and their surroundings, is available when circumstances will it," the statement said.

The U.S.-led coalition is urging all sides to concentrate on battling and defeating ISIS.
