Iran has been looking for a way to connect its regions of influence from Tehran to Damascus through Baghdad in order to reach the warm water and after their military convoys were bombarded for the second time in the Syrian desert by the American warplanes, the substitute is now the Syrian north which is controlled by PYD militias.
Iran is also trying to create legitimate forces affiliated to it in Syria that guarantee its control like "the popular mobilization" in Iraq and a counterpart to the Fifth Corps created by Russia.
The National Coalition has reported some activists on its official website saying that the national defense militants in al-Qamishli are now under a new flag which is "the Syrian Popular Mobilization".
Member of the political committee in the national coalition "Yasser al-Farhan" said that the formation of the Syrian popular mobilization comes to cover the existence of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards militants and other sectarian militias in Syria.
According to the activists, the mobilization was formed of a group of pro-regime militants and Ali Hawwas al-Khlouef, who is known for his support for Iran, was appointed as a general leader for the mobilization.
The new sectarian militias have established centers for training the militants on using the weapons and engaging in battles, while the general commander of the mobilization pardoned the militants who defected from regime forces under the condition of joining the mobilization.
