Aleppo Suffers From Poverty, High Cost And Oppression In Ramadan

Abdul Kareem al-Halabi, Baladi News

The regime-held city of Aleppo in the holy month of Ramadan is witnessing a dramatic rise in prices and power outages, in addition to the absence of the spirituality of the holy month due to the spread of the Iranian sectarian militias in the city.

With the advent of Ramadan, the prices of foodstuffs and vegetables have dramatically skyrocketed as traders raised the prices under the regime's protection, whose officers are taking their share from the total profits.

The neighborhoods of al-Iza'ah, al-Mashhad, and Salah al-Deen, which are considered the center of Shiite militias in the occupied Aleppo,  have turned into a real nightmare for the civilians living there as hundreds of the militia's members are spreading in the streets holding their weapons to terrorize the civilians.

Ahmad al-Halabi, an activist from inside the city of Aleppo said to Baladi News: "Ramadan's atmosphere hear in Aleppo is different from last year, as the militants of the Lebanese and Iranian militias are doing immoral acts in the streets such as smoking, drinking alcohol and insulting God and sanctities, in addition to harassing the city's young girls aiming at arousing the ire of the civilians and insulting them".

"Raids and arresting campaigns continue in the eastern neighborhoods like Bustan al-Kasser whose all shops have been closed, while regime forces and Iranian militias are still arresting young men for military service and reserves" ,al-Halabi added.

The city of Aleppo which has always witnessed a charming atmosphere in Ramadan, is now occupied by the Iranian sectarian militias which are trying to displace its residents by all means and ways, as they have taken over the houses and shops and their militias have become the first force in the city. Aleppo lives its first day of Ramadan under occupation that is trying to seize control over it and obliterate its heritage.
