Baladi News, Daraa
The military reinforcements that were sent to Daraa by the regime and its allies over the past two days have aroused a debate regarding their ability to make a change in the balance of power on ground.
Well-informed sources revealed to Baladi News that the regime and the Iranian militias under a Russian air cover are working on repeating the scenario of Aleppo in Daraa through exploiting the de-escalation agreement.
"Abou Bakir al-Hassan", the spokesman for Jaysh al-Thawra said: "Regime-affiliated media means reported that the military reinforcements to Daraa aim at recouping al-Manshiaa neighborhood in the city".
al-Hassan added that such reinforcements will not make any actual change in the military equation as the rebels are well-prepared for any battle and their morale is very high.
On the other hand, Al-Hassan pointed out that such news may be a cover for probable attacks by regime forces on the towns of Ibta' or the region of the triangle of death, concurrently with a possible escalation by ISIS in the basin of Yarmouk.
The media activist "Samer al-Masalmiah" said to Baladi News that these military reinforcements were targeted in the region of Khirbet Ghazaleh where rebels inflicted many losses in lives and material on regime forces.
It seems that controlling the Syrian desert is a priority for the regime in this stage due to its strategical depth which can open new passage for the pro-regime militias from Iraq towards Syria.
