The arrival of the holy month of Ramadan has aggravated the sufferings of refugees in the camps of Lattakia and Idlib province. In the absence of humanitarian organizations for more than two months and with the increase on the number of refugees, very few families were able to obtain barely enough supplies to feed their fasting children after a hot summer day.
Mohammad Bakdash, a person displaced from Kurds Mountains to Idlib province camps said, “we lack a lot of materials this month. After we were displaced due to Assad’s regime airstrikes on our villages, we could not find jobs to earn the money needed to purchase food supplies.”
Ahmad Billo, another refugee, complained that humanitarian organizations are only present on Facebook, but on the ground “I cannot not provide foods for the next day.”
Yusuf Ghalium suffers differently. All that he needs is the replacement of his worn-out tent, expressing concern that insects, snakes, and poisonous scorpions may find their way in through the holes of the tent.
