Baladi News – (Jubran Jalal)
Recently, verified reports, including an announcement by the United States, have indicated that Assad’s regime uses a crematorium of the bodies of detainees in Saydnaya.
Rani Jaber, the military analyst of Baladi News Network, explains that the reason why the regime has turned from detention to physical liquidation is to deprive the detainees, when they are released, of the chance of retaliating upon it after suffering a lot of torture in the prison.
Quoting the American statistic that indicates that 50 detainees have been killed every day, Jaber highlighted the shocking number of the detainees murdered by the regime, estimating it at 100,000 along nearly six years in Saydnaya alone.
The number, according to Jaber, suggests a horrifying fact about the impact the regime seeks to reflect on the Syrian community. The regime seeks to kill any will of opposing it and also annihilate all its opponents, including even the suspected ones. The detainees to be released, who have not joined the revolution, would also intimidate the Syrian community of the sequences of opposing the regime.
Jaber showed strong denial of the “complicit” United Nations report, which indicated that 50 detainees are killed on a weekly basis after trials, calling for an investigation into the investigations of the international organization in light of the leaks talking about the arbitrary execution of 50 detainees on a daily basis.
Jaber also referred to reports that there are at least two body choppers in Palestine Branch and Mazzeh Military Prison, and another crematorium in Aleppo, as well as a stake room. This means, according to the speaker, that at least 400,000 people have been cremated or chopped in Assad’s prisons. This number corresponds to 4% of the total population of Syria, which is an unprecedented percentage at the global level. Considering that there are at least ten other prisons similar to Saydnaya in terms of the size and function, the real number of detainees who have been killed in Assad’s prisons could exceed 600-700 thousands!
When asked about the reason why the west raised the issue of crematoriums, Jaber explained that the west wants to either treat Assad like Hitler by invoking the painful part of the collective European memory or contribute to concealing the crimes by arguing that all the evidence has been burned.
