Ahmad Rahal, Baladi News, Idlib
Activists and Journalists in the governorate of Idlib established on Saturday the National Free Media Institution with the presence of a large number of journalists and media activists who work in northern Syria.
The elected president of the institution, Ahmad Assy, confirmed to Baladi News that the main goal of this institution is to unite the media discourse and gather all the workers in the field of media and be the official media channel of the Syrian revolution.
al-Assy added that the institution will work in Idlib for the time being, but we are working on expanding this idea to cover the other governorates and include all the workers in the media field of the Syrian revolution, pointing out that this step could be late after 6 years of revolution, but the success of this project will make up for such a deficiency.
al-Assy said that the institution will mainly work on improving the image of the Syrian revolution and reporting the truth to the world media that is interested in the Syrian case.
It's worth mentioning that journalists and media activists have held intensive meetings in Idlib before forming the institution in order to put a primary plan regarding the goals of it and the mechanism of electing the board of directors, while the full mechanism of actions of the institution will be set later by the elected board of directors.
