Turkey shells south Idlib, retaliating for targeting Turkish convoy

BALADI NEWS

The Turkish military forces centered in south Idlib have shelled with heavy artillery the positions belonging to the Assad regime forces on Thursday, in retaliation for a bombardment by Assad forces that targeted a Turkish military convoy in the western countryside of Idlib.

The Assad regime forces targeted the Turkish convoy as it was heading to one of the Turkish posts near the town of al-Najiyeh in Idlib's western countryside, Baladi News correspondent reported.

The Turkish troops located near the city of Areeha retaliated by targeting positions of the regime forces near the city of Kafrunbul and Kafrouma in the southern countryside of Idlib, Baladi correspondent pointed out.

No casualties or material losses were reported by both sides.

Meanwhile, activists observed intensified flights of Turkish drones, while Russian warplanes were taking off from Hmeimim military airbase.

In conjunction with this escalation, the regime forces have brought massive military reinforcements to the cities of Kafrunbul and Saraqib.
