Europe: Syrians' Dreamlike Paradise

Syrians have started discovering the falsehood of  the dreams they set in their minds about Europe being a paradise after traveling along the toughest roads reaching the European continent in search for a safe and carefree life.

Since the beginning of the Syrian revolution in 2011 and until 2016,  more than 500 thousand Syrian refugees have reached Europe through illegal ways, 43% of which are in Germany, according to estimates by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.

Muhammed, a Syrian refugee who arrived in Germany seeking security and stability, said in an interview with Baladi News: "We have always dreamed that paradise is in Europe and our torments will end here, but surprisingly I buried my dreams here without shedding any tears.  "After I received the house, I knew that I'm banned from working otherwise the government will stop the financial aid. I'm 25 years old and I spend all my time learning a new language, not to continue my study which was stopped due to the war, but to find a job", he added.

Many people believe that the sympathy shown by Europe to the Syrian refugees crisis, aren't stemming from purely humanitarian motives, but rather from their desire of injecting new blood into these aging countries, where all procedures by the governments to increase birth rates have failed so far.

Many refugees are suffering from what's known as "Post-traumatic Stress Crisis",  a mental reaction that comes after a painful and life-threatening accident.

The psychological and social crises the Syrian refugees are suffering from in Europe are considered the most prominent reasons behind their poor adaptation to the new society, which negatively affect the refugee's ability to effectively become an active individual.
