The rebels and opposition factions have started a large-scale offensive against Assad regime forces in Idlib, Tuesday Feb.11, and recaptured parts of al-Neirab town, in Idlib's eastern countryside, local sources report.
Dozens of Assad regime members have been killed and injured since the start of the operations, while several cannons and armored vehicles were seized by the factions, the sources say.
" The factions have captured a tank and a 23 mm cannon in al-Neirab, and destroyed two 23 mm cannons, 2 tanks, and a personnel carrier," the sources point out.
The sources added that clashes with light weapons are still taking place in al-Neirab, in attempts by the factions to take full control of it.
In a similar context, an Assad helicopter's crew has been killed as their aircraft was targeted in Idlib by the opposition factions with an anti-aircraft missile.
