Scores of the regime forces have been killed and more injured, including an officer, at midnight, as they were attempting to advance against the rebels and Jihadi groups in Idlib's eastern countryside.
The Hayyat Tahrir al-Sham affiliated, Iba'a news agency, reported that 20 militiamen of the Russian forces were killed on the axis of Tal Masteef in the eastern countryside of Idlib, as they were targeted with a guided missile during an advance attempt.
In the same countryside, the opposition factions targeted regime forces' positions with many rockets, killing several soldiers and injuring a Major, Baladi News correspondent reported.
The opposition factions also thwarted an attempt of the regime forces to advance in the same countryside, during which operation many of the regime forces were killed and injured, according to Baladi correspondent.
It's noteworthy that on Saturday morning, the regime forces backed by Russian troops took control over Al-Deir al-Sharqi, and Maar Shamareen in Idlib's southern countryside, making the regime forces on a 4 km distance from Maarat al-Numan.
This comes after fierce clashes that took place in the area between the regime forces and the rebels.
