A UN delegation entered the Assad-besieged city of Darayya in Damascus western countryside. The delegation was not accompanied by any of the trucks which carry food or aid supplies, Orient News correspondent Mohammed Abdulrahman said on Saturday.

The UN Secretary-General’s representative Khola Matter wandered in the city and met members of the Local Council and some representatives of the fighting groups in besieged city.

People were frustrated and dismayed when they saw the UN delegation empty-handed, eye witnesses told Orient Net.

Abo Abdo, an elderly man from Darayya, said when he saw the UN delegation without aid supplies, “The mountain was in labor and it produced a mouse”.

Syrians have named Darayya “the Capital of Barrel Bombs” in a reference to the innumerable Assad barrel bombs dropped on the besieged city since 2012.
