Rebels expel ISIS out of Al-Qalamoun

Tarek Khawaam, Damascus Countryside

Rebels battalions liberated, on Friday, the Chinese factory, the United company, and Abou Al-Shamaat highway in the Eastern part of Al-Qalamoun in Damascus countryside, after clashes with ISIS.
ISIS had last Tuesday resized control over battalion "559" , the deserted battalion, Al-Muthaleth checkpoint, Tal Abo Al-Shamaat, the Chinese factory, and the surrounding of Al-Seen military airbase in the northeastern part of Damascus.

ISIS also targeted regime forces stationed in Al-Dumayr military airbase, the regiment 16, and Tishreen thermal station in the eastern countryside of Damascus. Regime forces abandoned their areas in Damascus countryside in favor of ISIS with no blood shedding, adding that such actions pushed the regime forces to prevent ISIS advent towards the liberated areas reaching Al-Dumayr, which is a justification for the regime to shell and displace its people.
Assad's warplanes launched yesterday 6 air raids, with no casualties recorded, on Mehwar Al-Khazzan, Al-Arab and Al-wa'ara alleys, and Hajez Abo Rateb which are areas under the control of Al-Sadeek brigade and Jund Al-Malahem, who are accused of affiliating to ISIS.

Al-Dumayr city is witnessing a great tension between the controlling military factions, as there had been clashes between Islam army and Ahmed Al-Abdou forces on one hand, and between Al-Sadeek brigade and Jund Al-Malahem on the other hand.
It's noteworthy that the clashes between the two sides have been suspended since the fourth of last March, after the people of the city demonstrated expressing their rejection of the fighting inside the city, which lasted more than two months, and led to casualties among civilians as well as deaths and wounds from both sides, most of whom were citizens of the city and generally of Al-Qalamoun, in addition to their claim of raising guns against the regime forces, which has several military barracks in the region.
